Net Atlantic Increases Scholarship Fund

Salem email marketing firm Net Atlantic announces that it has increased its scholarship fund for local high school students.

SALEM, MA. – February 7, 2012 – Email service provider Net Atlantic, Inc. has been offering local students scholarships of $1,500 each over the last three years. Over the course of their scholarship program, the Salem business has awarded six outstanding high school students funds totaling $9,000. With the cost of post high school education rising, this year Net Atlantic has decided to increase its award to $2,000 for two eligible students

Previous recipients of scholarships have been Amanda Lake of Danvers, Jenny Morris of Marblehead, Lawrence Cheung and Casey Little, Lorjan Karagjozi and Melissa Simons of Salem. These six students each won for their commitment to their education, displaying leadership amongst their peers and moving essays. Net Atlantic has been very fortunate to have a few of these students return to Salem from their chosen colleges and universities to pursue internships.

“Each year it has been increasingly more difficult to choose two students from the qualified list of applicants,” said Salem native Andrew Lutts, Founder and CEO of Net Atlantic. “Students continue to impress us with their dedication to academic success.”

After collecting over 30 qualifying applicants last year the Scholarship Committee at Net Atlantic has decided to maintain the same qualifications. Students graduating in 2012 from public and private schools in Salem, Peabody, Lynn, Lynnfield, Beverly, Danvers, Marblehead, and Swampscott will be eligible to participate in the program. The Net Atlantic scholarship also requires students to maintain grades above a 3.0 GPA; chose a major in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Communications, or Electrical Engineering; and complete the application process.

Candidates for the scholarship must submit an application and an essay indicating their qualifications through the Net Atlantic website, email, or by US mail. Students are allowed to send their essays in digital video format. The company encourages any submission that allows students to best show their passion, innovation, and brilliance.

The deadline (the date by which applications must be postmarked or emailed) is May 1, 2012. Winners will be announced over the summer. Interested students should visit www.netatlantic.com/scholarships for additional information.
